Mikey wouldn't quit (unless Loma broke his nose....)

Just wonder if they will miss each other on the scales though. Sure Mikey is at 135 currently, but he's right on the edge of heading to 140, and expect him to go up sooner rather than later.

So just when Loma hits 135, Mikey gets to 140. I hope Mikey hangs in there at 135 so they do meet though.

There will be a lot of fighters out there ducking Loma from now on (starting with Vargas - not that Vargas will duck, more that De La Hoya will lock him in a cage and not let him out if Loma is in town. Golden 'best fighting the best' Boy only lets their fighters fight someone they can beat), and Mikey is the type to step up to the plate.

This brings Warren's recent hopes for Loma v Flanagan closer to reality though, and suspect that would be Loma's first stop at 135 (if Flanagan still has his belt - Loma likes shiny things remember).

I would think that Loma would have to meet Pacquiao at 140, unless Arum is pulling our leg. If he is willing to fight Pacquiao at 140 then Mikey at 135 should be a no brainier.

De La Hoya defends his fighters by carefull cherrypicking just like Al Haymon.

Miguel Berchelt has been mandatory challenger for some time now, is young, long, can apparently punch real hard with both hands, and has been kept active by Zanfer Promotions as he bides his time (giving rust no chance to set in on anything).

why folks don't pay attention is beyond me.
