The 7th was the first round where Walters really had a rough time of it, though. He was losing the other rounds, but he didn't take a beating in the process.

Literally all he had to do was give one more round where he put his caution aside and gave a good go of it. If that doesn't work no one blames him for quitting. Instead he gave up after the very first round where Lomachenko really put it on him. Considering everything that can and has happened in boxing, I don't think this quit job is defensible. He never went out there and really tried to grab hold of the fight.

Fair enough, I can see that side of the argument, of course. It was a calculated move, he could see it only going one way obviously. But maybe at least for the paying fans, he should have had one round going all out.

First off he wasn't comI ting on any shots in the first 5 rounds, and when he hits you he hits with a lot of shots and with shots you don't see coming. He doesn't need one punch KO power to take guys out.

to me recoloation there has been no fighter who just been outboxed and quit without being winded, damage or anything.

people will say duran and the no mas fight but that wasnt really the same imo, lenoard wasnt fully engaging with duran he was being cute picking his spots etc. Lomachenko was fully engaging with walters jsut walters could do absolutely nothing with it even duran landed something back but walters nothing at all.

I personally consider what Hop did to Dawson to be a quit, though I'm sure many will argue it was a legit injury. Had he not bluffed before, I might give him the benefit of the doubt. He really fked over the fans that night. Can you imagine spending a few grand to fly out there for the week to see that happen?

That's exactly how I felt... Would have given him benefit of doubt if hopkins didn't have a history of it

I will forever herald Ortiz/Maidana as the largest I've seen. Yes, even over Duran. Because Duran was just getting embarrassed, so a quit was expected. No quit was expected from Ortiz after he knocked Maidana down. It was straight up shocking.

Yet, Crawford got beat up on this board for doing the exact same thing against Postol. When Loma does it, it's brilliant. When Crawford does it, it's boring. Funny how that works.
