Given the pace of his career, and how much of a joy to watch he is offensively and defensively, I think he's right up there. If he had gone into this fight 27-0 with a padded record but still the GRJ & RM wins people wouldn't say he's untested/not seen enough.. it is absolutely remarkable to have done it all in 8 fights and then stop walters, who is a huge test

Lomachenko or Ward, who is P4P #1?

Neither. Ward no, because even with the win over Kov, it was not in an impressive fashion, and could have gone either way, meaning he didn't dominate. Loma no, because although Walters is a good scalp, Walters also chose not to put up a good fight, meaning Loma didn't win in 'impressive' fashion to me. Of course he won convincingly, but it takes two to tango, and Walters chose not to tango last night. If Loma fought and beat (or drew with) Rigo, then he'd already by my #1 P4P.

lomachenko for sure. I love how kovalevs gone from someone who they were all saying was a sloppy boxer and was going to get schooled, to some outstanding technician in the ring now ward struggled with him. Where as walters has now been discredited as a bum.

as long as he stays active its all good. 2 weight world champ by your 7th fight come on, with a very pleasing style that isn't only casual friendly but for anyone who has boxed is fascinating to see him pull off things that would have you tripping over your own feet of you tried it yourself. those crisp combos and they're very accurate, all while maintaining a pretty responsible defence, when he establishes that outside lead foot and pivots around, so skillful.
it's a lot more entertaining for me than ward, though I respect him I think if the consensus is that he's p4p no. 1, you've got to see loma at least up there, and I maintain that if he'd scalped grj and Walters alongside 20 or so other random fights, and had been pro longer, people would question him less.. strange logic.
he's already had more legitimate world title defences than a lot of the so called established champs..
put this in perspective, ward has had 8 world title fights and debuted in 2004, Loma 7 world title fights debuting in 2013...
i just want him to avenge that Salido loss, his trajectory at this point is unmatched.. it might derail yes, but what he does isn't hype, his curse might end up being a poor chin, but we don't know that yet.. Walters was supposed to test it...Last edited by TheCleaner; 11-27-2016, 04:57 AM.

Skilwise loma is up there
But he hasn't shown he can beat a p4p entrant yet. Walters was close but inactive and hasn't got any elite level wins
Ward beat the most dominant light heavy since the Jones era....froch is a hall of famer...Dawson has a deeper resume than anyone from 160-168 he is on the slide now but was in most peoples top ten p4p. Kessler was lower top 10 or 15
Once loma cleans out 130 and beats someone he isn't heavily favored to beat like mickey Garcia, Robert easter Jr , linares he may be #1...not yet though
