Kov is putting all his weight on the back of his neck. Between the rabbit punches, headlocks/choking, a couple forearms, and pushing down on the back of the head, Kov fought a pretty dirty fight. Hilarious considering how many idiots here were screaming about "dirty" Ward before the fight.

That said, I like a gritty fight so I'm cool with it. Just the double-standards and clueless posters around here are shocking.

Well kovalev's dirty tactics negated much of ward's dirty tactics. I still think kovalev was too concerned with not letting ward gain position to allow him to work on the inside. he might have been a bit fresher down the stretch if he didn't look to hold til the ref broke them almost every time. If you can control the head, fair enough...but trying to tie up both arms takes a lot of energy.

Yea, I know Kovalev wrestles (sort of) in training so he should have some grappling strength. But, it does interrupt your breathing rhythm and I'm sure it did contribute to mild fatigue, along with getting hit in the body.
I think Kov should push a bit. I know it's illegal and Byrd would have eventually got involved but it would be a better than just letting Ward get inside and grapple.

Yea. And it's a common thing in boxing. But pulling on the legs tackling is not something seen often, especially not as often in a single fight like as Ward did it.
