Comments Thread For: Lomachenko May Answer A lot of Questions in Walters Clash

For better or worse, the Sergey Kovalev-Andre Ward fight is still the talk of boxing, even though it occurred a week ago. That is too bad, considering the junior lightweight clash tonight between WBO titleholder Vasyl Lomachenko and Nicholas Walters should be receiving more press than what it is getting.

Great article but it contains an error.
Adelaide Byrd is one of the judges scoring the fight. She was criticized for her 97-93 scorecard for Maurice Hooker over Darleys Perez last weekend in Las Vegas.
Byrd actually had it the other way, for Perez.
Can't believe I'm defending Byrd but she deserves credit for the right call there.

i've picked walters. i've tried to tune out the year lay off, and only 3 fights in 2 years i believe, bc the 8 in reach advan and natural ability of walters gives me major confidence in him.

On the other hand the people who i spoke to that picked loma alwasy mentioned that walter inactivity is a huge question for them..

in this sense even his supporters are taking a bit of credit if he wins...no matter how much i tune out the inactivity i think we can all agree we'd much rather be seeing these 2 meet while they're both very active and sharp...

GET IT RIGHT NEXT TIME BOXING..I'M STILL WATCHING TONIGHT THO

In my opinion, this fight promises to be a much better fight than a week ago between Kovalev/Ward. I expect lots of punches to be thrown in this one, because both of these combatants are a lot lighter and quicker than the previous light heavyweights we witnessed last week.

I personally favor Vasyl Lomachenko to win this bout by split decision. I think he will do just enough to overcome the offensive onslaught by Walters that is pretty surely to come because he is the more technically skilled and fundamentally sound of the two boxers.

However, he must box, avoid the exchanges and beat Walters to the punch at every turn, because the Axe man's power is no fluke. He can end the fight anytime with just a single punch.

          Can't wait for this fight
Loma is the favourite. .The guy's like a boxing computer
Walters has that raw power and throwback attitude of kill or be killed
I'll be like everyone else, hoping walters checks loma's whiskers early and often

8 inch reach advantage? 8 inch??

Holy ****. I bet that's not the only place he's packing 8 inches.

Might need Buffer to whip it out for us and verify.
