  • Was Kov/Ward The Worst Fight Agreement Of All Time?

If you have a worse deal in mind please list it.

Kovalev has the unified LHW titles. A dominant unified champion.

Ward NOT only got the split favor, 5 million to Kovalev's 2 million, he also got the shot without beating any worthy LHW contenders.

So the drastic split to Ward means Kovalev should get the fight in Russia right lmao
    nope

    Ward got home court advantage

    All American judges

    An American ref

    House fighter.

LMAO i was like LMAO. Kathy Duva can't negotiate for shiiiite.

If Kovalev got a raw deal then he should look no further than Main Events to lay the blame...

Eastern Europeans should only agree to be managed by K2 promotions.

If the klitschkos had let Americans dictate terms Jameel McCline and Co would have been heavyweight champ

k2 is shrewd but they know what they r doing.

when they went over to England to fight Brook. Who is a bigger draw than Ward in the States.

        1. They got the bigger split.

        2. They had a much lower risk opponent. higher probability of win. close to 90%.

        it was worth the risk

Ward/Kov in the books was a 50/50 fight. How could they not negotiate a neutral venue with neutral judges at least. just LMAO

GGG beating Brook was almost a 100% certainty. Brook was willing to fight when Saunders and Eubank weren't. Team Kovalev made a lousy deal if Kovalev actually only got 2 million to Ward's 5 million plus all American judges and referee.

i'm talking by the books. it wasn't 100% certainty because Brook was 100% on that Hulkez time with PED's. dude looked like Mr Olympia in there.

Who knows what one of those bolo punches would've done. Unfortunately it hit the titanium jaw of GGG and bounced off. But before then, don't tell me you weren't excited about it after the weigh in.

There was no split difference. It was 50/50 for each side. Roc Nation just gave Ward a bigger guarantee than Main Events gave Kovalev. Roc Nation will lose money. Main Events won't.

Kovolev took the short end of the stock to get the fight made... I wish Golovkin would do the same

Lmao, probability of win 90%. Dude Brook didnt even have a punchers chance. The probability GGG won was 100%, same as when he fought Lemieux, Wade, Monroe, Murray, Geale and his career defining fight versus Rubio.

Kovalev probably would have been better off taking the purse bid against Stevenson tbh.

Kathy Duva is an absolute **** promoter/manager or whatever her job is.

Even when Ray Leonard was the bigger star, he had to take short money on at least a couple occasions to get a title shot.

In this instance, not only is Kovalev more well known or at the very least equal but he is the champion and yet Ward goes into the fight as "the star"?

Duva is running a **** show and I feel Kovalev should cut ties and move to TR. Or heck, even Haymon just so we get Kov v Stevenson.
