Wlad is 6'6" 240. He was falling over himself and he got tripped. A guy that big doesnt just trip over a guy like RObert Byrd.

well, he did. watch the tape. btw, bigger people i find are actually easier to trip/sweep.

This isnt ment to be a Wlad bashing session at all, but he doesnt have a good chin. And when someone says its better than deigo corrales because his losses are understandable, i have to make comments like this.

on a side note - people crack a few fat jokes about james toney and some people sound like they were really upset about it. however, some of the same people have probably criticized wk or other heavyweights and have no sense of of being hyprocritical. strange, isn't it?

your right wlad doesnt have a good chin,,but worst is that he panics when he gets hit. whereas diego is mentally tougher but in my opinion has a weaker chin as his knockouts have been pretty brutal

That is pretty strange, but therers really no way around it. Every HW champ or contender is lacking in one department.

Wlad-Chin/ possible fatuige problems? (looked ok as far as fatigue is concerned in his last fights)
Toney-Is a fatty. Out of shape in a bad way
Rahman- always a question mark and im not sure how skilled he actully is. also has chin problems
brewster-1 dimensional, can be outboxed
sergi-havent seen enough of him to pass judgment

when you break it down like that, the hw division doesnt look too solid, but it also means nearly anyone can unify.

With the exception of the last castillo fight (insert all the stipulations here) he hasnt been knocked out badly in any other fight.

For someone who speaks like 7 languages, I thought he did a great job, was well-spoken, and very relaxed. Dressed sharp, too. Wlad is all class and a credit to the sport of boxing.

Light years beyond some thugged-out low-life criminal fighters I could name who like to beat up women, pose like they're in rap videos, and who can't speak English any better than Wlad even though it's their first language.... LOL

I think he looked a bit awkward, never said anything about the way he talked, all the power too him for that. However i actully laughed out loud as they were fading to the first fight and wlad was just kind of staring, open mouthed into the camera. It was funny stuff. It just kind of seemed like he wasnt sure if he wanted to be there or not.

any fighter of any era has weaknesses. it's really all about how you improve on them or defend them.

personally, i think his "chin" is fine. in my eyes, it's the way he deals with a short barrage of heavy punches - especially when he's not ready for them.

so far though, he has looked much better. i noticed in the byrd rematch that after a while, he wasn't even clinching - he was jamming up the inside attack by going in really close, then taking a step to the side of byrd or simply pushing him back.

hopefully, for us boxing fans, he can maintain and unify at least another major title and hold onto them for a few years. seems like klitschko is the only champ really shooting for a unification. he did mention that negotiations are a bit difficult. perhaps talks with the other champs are already happening.
