How ******ed are you? Not only is Kovalev older than Ward, Ward also had a 2 year vacation away from the sport.

2 year "vacation", your'e talking about a guy that has been in the ring 3/4 of his entire life. That's a huge change in his lifestyle, both mentally and physically. Do you know what sort of mental preparation it takes to eat punches for 12 full rounds?

He went from undefeated since 13, to Olympic gold winner, to super 6 winner, in the thick of things to chilling with his family for 2 years. Suddenly he's fighting a top 5 p4p guy in the sport. You lack perspective.

People think a guy that has been boxing the majority of his life can stop for 2-3 years without any consequence lmao. They're not robots, it ****ing hurts to get punched, it takes a lot of time to prepare your nerves, body, mentality, reflexes, etc. to get back to the old you.

I don't get it, Ward haters agreed before they fought, now they disagree. Wtf?

I don't know how they go from "Brand, Barrera, Smith won't prepare him" to "he was fully prepared!"

I'ts weird, i've seen a few posts like that. It's like because Ward didn't completely out-box Kovalev and make him look foolish like some predicted, then those people have to have an excuse for that.

The fact it was a close, even controversial fight, seemed to dim it for those guys, stopped them from enjoying it as much as the felt they should of. I think his fans who may even think he lost (but won't say so), feel they have to over consumpate now in their bragging as a deflection tactic. Thankfully though, most on here aren't like that.
There's no need for that of course, it was a well fought, close fight, were both guys put on a good showing.
It should be a case of , if you like the guy then enjoy the win. He was never going to go in there and clown Kovalev, and that has nothing to do with him being in or out of his prime.

There were lots of 'What will Kovalev fans excuses be when he loses?' polls put up before the fight. Never for the life of me did i think that if Ward won that there would be threads making disguised excuses as to why he didn't win in a dominate fashion.
