This Saturday night, Vasyl Lomachenko makes his first defense of his WBO super featherweight world title against the dangerous, unbeaten Nicholas Walters. This event is taking place at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. While there's no denying Lomachenko's prodigious skills, he's still fighting in a venue that holds under 2,000.

he can be very marketable. The type of style where casual sport fans would be seriously impressed if you showed them highlights. And a 396-1 amateur record is going to impress anyone

Loma's got the goods, but when promoters (particularly Arum) start talking like this in such a corrupt sport, it doesn't feel good... That shows a conflict of interest and I have a feeling that no matter what, Walters will have to knock Loma out if he wants to win.

I've been saying this from the beginning, it may be double the corruption after the Ward/Kovalev controversy.

The only way a foreign, non English speaking fighter can become a genuine celebrity and star in the sport if he is flashy and has KO power. Look at Manny and to a lesser extent (but very successful financially) Martinez. Other than that you only really get British fighters making it big over there.

Heck Wlad the heavyweight champion of the world for almost a decade barely got any traction in the USA.

If they can market Canelo who doesnt speak English why Cant they market Two Time Gold Medalist, Two Weight Divisoion World Champion, with an amature record of 396-1. Plus he starting to speak is English. O and the most important thing is he is WHITE, like the Ginger.

In 2003 before he got exposed he was building a good name in the states but after he got exposed by Brewster he fled to Germany and didn't fight here anymore that was all his fault.
