Damn no PPV? Fight must have bombed and they realize both fighters purses aren't worth the lack of PPV revenue.

..... or, they realize that most fans are now aware that the rematch will not be "a war"..... like they thought the first fight would be.

A lot of people wanted to watch Kovalev knock Ward out, those people will not be so happy paying to watch Ward win a decision..... like last time.

I'll believe it when I see it. I believe Ward's contract with HBO is up & regardless if you love or hate Ward I think we all can admit he & his team don't make business talks easy. Also lets remember this is Kathy Duva saying this who's one of the bigger knuckleheads in the game today so you probably shouldn't take anything she says TOO seriously.

I was betting with a couple cats here the first fight would happen this year, but I'd bet this 2nd fight doesn't happen in the first 1/3 of next year now.

The second sentence clearly states hbo has a date reserved in April for a PPV card.

hbo quit showing good fights not on PPV as soon as Haymon left. hbo used to be a must-have for any boxing fan. For the price of one or two ppvs you could watch great fights every month. Now Arum feeds them Bradley-Rios and Loeffler gives them G-Wade. There are literally better fights on network t.v. than on hbo now. For crying out loud, they put Crawford-Postol on PPV.

Showtime stepped up and invested in boxing too, and instead of trying to outdo their rival, hbo is instead slowly getting rid of boxing.
