    Looked through a lot of Byrd's judging, especially the SDs and MDs she's played a role in, and she seems pretty solid to me. Can't see any howlers in there.

    Meantime, lest we forget....Lisa Giampa....somehow saw Russell getting a draw vs Loma. Now THAT was a howler.

    Neither of the fighters are from the US, so should be no national bias issues - but if anything, feels like hometown advantage goes to Walters given Jamaica is a lot closer to the US than the Ukraine (or should we say Jamaica is further away from Russia while the judges probably think the Ukraine is in Russia).

    Then again, Lomachenko lives in the US, so should end up fair as the judges can't screw over both of them at the same time (much as I'm sure they would like to - maybe have Russell winning the fight even though he's not there).

    And on the subject of judge howlers...I vowed never to forget the name PIERRE BENOIST...after he turned in that scorecard of 119-110 in the first Williams/Martinez fight. A close competitive fight, other two scores 114-114, and 115-113 for Williams. No issues with Williams getting it as it was truly close and had to go one way or the other, but to see a 119-110 scorecard stank of something ugly.

      Adalaide Byrd can consistently be counted on to score for the Black boxer.

        loma has been praised by arum as the next ali, so the cards have already been written with loma taking an unanimous decision, ax man only chance is to ko loma, there is no way he is gonna get a favorable decision against newest arum's apontee

            I'm a Loma fanboy, but if Walters doesn't get a fair shake in the scoring I'll be singing out loud about it - boxing needs to start getting the judging side of things right to win back some credibility lost after Ward/Kovalev.

                  Byrd has had some "interesting" scoring but she's better than Patricia Morse Jarman, who continues to get big fights in Vegas despite a history of horrible scoring. Vegas promoters really need to get some new judges

                    That was definitely the case in the past, which made me keep an eye on her. She honestly isn't as bad about the race thing now but she's still a loose cannon when it comes to scorecards.

                    Bleacher titled her one of the 5 "Worst Judges in MMA History" in a 2012 article.

                    Here's a great example of her handywork;

                      Giampa was the one that gave it a 114-114 draw in the Loma-Russell fight. Maybe a KO will happen or a clear cut schooling, some judges just cant score fights correctly.
