    Lmao

Ward is a great great boxer and tougher than we all knew! His adjustment to tired out Kov late was brilliant, grappling and fighting on the inside helped him make the fight ugly which is what Sergey doesn't do!

I picked Ward to clearly beat Kovalev but it ain't go that way and I'm really really looking forward to the rematch as I expect it to be an even better and bigger fight than the 1st!

Let's just give credit to Ward for taking on an elite monster in his prime while moving up and getting up after being dropped and let's give Kovalev credit for accepting the fight, never losing his cool in the fight, and showing us he's a much better boxer than we all realized!

    Ward vs Kovalev 2

      Hello moderators?

Why do you allow a few people on here to ruin the threads with idiotic and disgusting "comments" abusing the html capabilities with huge bold letters with idiotic nonsense, totally useless for the thread and the discussion, and poor-taste, poorly doctored "pictures" completely unrelated to the discussion?
Those abusing users should be retired the privilege of even posting any more until they follow the rules IMHO.

Now, on the fight issue, it surprises me to read that apparently most people are sayIng that Kovalev was actually the one doing the excessive clinching every time Ward got close to him. Really? Sometimes some boxers are sooo good at the "clinching art"--sarcasm, to me repeated clinching should be penalized by points deduction--, that they actually make it LOOK like the other one is the one starting the clinch. Ward has always been a clinching "master," and he was the one with a constant threat of being KO'd, so why would Kovalev clinch him at all?

According to the judges Ward won the fight. We had a split house on this one. All of my non-diehards friends thought Sergey won. All of my diehard friends thought Ward won, but they still believed that they were going to give the fight to Sergey because of the Knockdown. I thought Ward won 7-4-1 and I called the 12th round a draw. I believe I gave Sergey 1,2,4,10. He damn sure didn't win the 3rd, that was indicated on all scorecards. If boxing judges went back to scoring close rounds evenly the results may have been different. There was no robbery in this fight, it could have gone either way.

He made a case to win the fight, and the judges all scored it in a way that can be defended. Just because it's easier to score for Kovalev doesn't mean it's impossible to score for Ward.

The opinions about this fight are actually reminding me of Matthysse-Judah. It was much easier to score for Matthysse, and most did (including myself), but 114-113 Judah was a legit score. And that's the score he won the fight with.

Because that's how close fights work.

Kovalev wins rematch easier, he is smart and can make adjustments to finish the job, Ward despite all the talk cant do much different
