Comments Thread For: Arum: Lomachenko-Walters Could Be FOTY - Unlike Ward-Kovalev

He might be right though that Walters Loma might be a better action fight but a lot of **** goes into making a fight memorable. The status of the fighters is a big key. I watch two bums go to war on solo boxeo every week, we don't care because it's not important. Ward Kovalev was important for mad reasons. Battle for #1 p4p. It was a title fight. Both unbeaten. Ward moving up when GGG and Nelo both acting soft when it comes to moving up. Sergey being a monster puncher drops Ward but then Ward comes back and makes it a fight. Bob needs to just ride the wave and hope this fight gives us something good.
A fight doesn't need to have big time implications or huge names to be memorable or a FOTY candidate.

Did people actually view Kov/Ward as a bad fight? I mean I was pretty intoxicated and was watching it alone but I thought it was a great fight. I remember thinking that was one of the best "mega fights" I had seen in a while. But then again I was pretty drunk so maybe that impacted my enjoyment of it.Comment

Possibly, but why is everyone so quick to burn Kov-Ward? It was the most significant fight that can be made and they made it happen. And then unlike so many similar great matchups like ODLH-Trinidad and so on it was actually a great fight.
Anyway really looking forward to Loma-Walters.Comment

No I don't?? Are u ****** or something?? I literally have that **** set to record every week. Gtfoh. Lol and a fight doesn't need big names to be memorable but when u have two guys the status of Kovalev and Ward, two bums can give u the same type of fight and it won't mean nearly as much.Comment
