I know. I agree with you.

We invested the phrase A tie is like kissing your sister.

Exactly!!! Look how they are reacting to the presidential election. It's because they grow up with participation ribbons and never experience true competition and how to take an L gracefully.

75% scored for Kovalev but a portion of those recognize that it was a close fight that could go either way. 75% of those analysts aren't *****ing and whining.

The other thing is I thought about writing a post about the inadequacies of the current scoring system.
From a statistical perspective but so few would read let alone comment I figured whats the point.
It would be good if there were some more evolved conversations.

Listen the fact that 3 judges had the exact same scores raises questions. Mike D, PBP, Chrismart and some others have been discussing this.

Again not meaning to criticise but to me this just further demonstrates people don't understand probability.
Is this discussion in a sensible thread?

In different threads. Couple others have touched on it as well.

A close fight that could have gone either way would mean that the analysts would have 50-50 results too. Only 20% saw Ward win. You would expect the draw % to be higher than 5% if it was really that close.

And you forget that outside America, every TV channel also had Kovalev winning.

And no one had Kovalev winning only 1 round after the fourth, just these judges.

Another abnormality.. close fight that could have gone either way ends up in UD? weird, fishy, rotten.
