He started out too slow so as not to make the rookie mistake of burning out early, but it meant he gave up a lot of early rounds. He ended the fight with too much in the gas tank, and thats not a mistake he will make again.

I started watching boxing at Clay v Cooper, and have been there all the way through Leonard, Duran, Hearns, Hagler and the rest. Not once did I entertain any of them being at Ali's level of talent..until now with Loma. The kid is amazing - watch a lot of what he did with Russell in slomo. If Walters beats him I'll change my mind, but I don't think he will.....

Really...Prime Roy and Prime Mayweather? Not to mention Sweet Pea. Go watch a Prime Roy and Mayweather. Their selection of punches. Ali, in all his Career, I have never seen him attack the body. Watch how Mayweather uses a jab to break down an opponent's body by sticking it in their solar plexus. Ali's daughter even came out and said Mayweather is a better technician and tactician than her father.

I started watching fights later than you. I am of the Hagler, Leonard, Hearns and Tyson's era, but Mayweather, at his prime, was the most complete fighter I have seen. As Larry Merchant used to say, Mayweather throw punches that aren't even in the textbook yet.
