To my surprise, many people on here said Kovalev said he struggles to make 175 so that might be the reason for it. Plus Ward fights very rough as well. And as time goes on he will struggle more and more with making the weight.

If the struggle to make weight is worth talking about and causing him problems on fight night, then he should move up instead of trying to force himself into a smaller division. I'm not knocking Kov. I haven't heard him say anything about this, so there's no point in fans taking the weight drain route.

With this PR offensive his team are on, anyone would think hed schooled Kovalev instead of robbing him despite getting knocked on his ass.
Kovalev is a quality boxer who feinted Ward onto the right hand and at least earned a close draw.

Bull**** to make out Wards some epic genius who played with him and roughhoused him. Kovalev in a rematch will improve his timing IMO and actually do better than Ward can, in my opinion.

Valid points on lack of activity...only reason fight was close. a few bouts then rematch and beat that arse definitively 2nd time around to quell all the controversy...

That is just Wards style. Bull rush, wrestle or "in fight" with the opponent until he tires. Win because of tired opponent.
While it works for Ward it feels like cheating to me. It also is just sad and ugly to watch for me. Just imagine Ward fighting his fictional identical twin brother.

all these kovatards and g strings on here complaining about "dirty" tactics must've been watching a different fight... the "dirty" fighter was kovalev!! everytime ward closed the gap, he headlocked him and leaned on his back.. i guess that's ok right?? it was clear that ward wanted to make this into a phone booth war of attrition.. and also because at close range he negated kovalev's reach advantage. . it's foolish to stay on the outside because that's how kovalev lands his shots.. but "dirty" one was clearly kovalev. . for being so mean and having this monster image, it surprised me he didnt't want a shootout with the smaller, supposedly weaker ward.

Still crazy to me how so many young men and grown adults are acting like children. It was a treat fight on Saturday with arguably the two best fighters in the world. So of course it was close and of course some people saw it differently. The very good fights always do that...entire JMM/Pac series, Floyd/Maidana 1, Canelo/Lara, DLH/Trinidad, etc.

No sense in crying about the outcome now though. Donald Trump won the election - move on. Andre Ward won the fight - move on. Great contest and glad Kovy has an immediate rematch clause...so we'll see them go at it again.

All the people crying robvery and blaming Ward are upet kids or just idiots. Real boxing fans know that was a good fight that was very close. Props to both and I can't wait for #2
