Difference of levels. Maidana dont get me wrong he is a beast but he has a style of a bum.

It is about timing and punch placement.

Maidana swung for the fences, happy to land anywhere and alot happened to land on the body whereas Ward's bodyshots had purpose.. ward knows when to throw them and where to land.
