I agree Ward is the more technically sound and refined boxer. But nullifying attacks shouldn't be enough to take the belt away from a champion who is coming forward throughout most of the fight. Kovalev scored a knockdown and was the aggressor the entire fight. If the fight was close, as most people say it was, then Kovalev should have retained his belt.
If the fight was even, Kovalev should have won

Just flip the tables for once.
Would all these idiots be saying Kovalev should have grabbed the belts off Ward, if there were some 'really difficult rounds to score'? I think not.Comment

Depends on how you feel about 10 - 10 rounds I guess, I know they're not encouraged, but I feel there'd be a legitimate case for them in a few of the close rounds. Have just 1 and a draw becomes entirely possible.Comment

Let's JUST say the fight was even statistically.
I think Kovalev should have won due to 3 things.
1. The knockdown, it was 1 to 0 in terms of knockdowns. That's gotta count for something.
2. Aggression and controlling pace. Even Ward fans can't deny Ward was backing up most of the fight. We all know it's riskier to be the aggressor than it is to defend, block shots and counter for 12 whole rounds.
3. Whatever happened to the challenger showing up and winning the belt convincingly from the champion. Shouldn't a tie go to to the champion?
What do you guys think? Do you ya'll think Ward won convincingly even with these 3 points?
10 point must system
punch stats, compubox, commentary have nothing to do with the point tally
doesn't matter if the fighter wins by 1 round or 5 rounds...a win is a winComment

Apparently, you will only use compubox when it fits your agenda that is for sure....Comment
