Difference is, Ward wanted it, moved up, fought the best in the next weight class. GayLoveKin is a fuggin bum beater with 36 fights, not a single notable win, is a blatant ducker when it comes to fights he's not sure he'll win, and is in general simply an hbo created hype job.

Don't compare true greatness, to a hype job that hasn't done ****.

Problem, Stevenson is fast and much better counter puncher than Kovalev. He also hits harder, I have yet to see a current boxer that hurts guys so easily with single shots. Stevenson has dropped more guys off single shots than any current heavyweight.

He would beat Ward. Krusher was big enough to **** ward but all he does is stick out his jab and hopes to catch you coming in. If you don't come in he has no answer as we saw. Stevenson on the other hand attacks and counters your counters he doesn't wait behind his jab.

So Stevenson was a ducker of Kovalev, but now he's the real top lhw?

I don't think there is any point in simply finding the right opponent just to try to win a strap at HW. I think that's a ****** choice. Ward doesn't need that to solidify being a great fighter.

100% he would be KO'd by any fighter with any version of a world title imo. Chisora is a rung below those guys is 6 foot even and has been through the mincer a bit in his career.

Maybe that Andy Ruiz character is who he is banking on to beat Parker?

For the same reason that Floyd fighting GGG would be - it gets to the point where the size difference renders it a bit grotesque. But even more so because Ward would just be fighting a hand-picked guy who could and probably should STILL be able to knock him out.

There is daring to be great and there is sort of wasting everyones time. This is the era of the super heavyweight.

Ward/Kovalev was great. More of the same please. Not guys stepping up two weights. It's foolish.
