"NO one has ever done that to Kovalev in the ring
he lost the 2nd half of the fight and could not take control of the championship rounds
I don't think that result is as straight-forward as you think "
Take control? the later rounds were competitive in every sense of the word. No way ward dominatedComment

If you know these people are casuals, then tell me how you know that information? Point them out to me.
Most had it for Kovalev and are calling it controversial. Plus all the cheating Ward was doing with all the grappling and holding. It was a foul fest.Comment

Cheating?!?, Kov was the initiating the headlock when Ward closed the range. When Ward got lose, he ****** away at his body. Which got tender as the fight progressed.
I knew he softened him when Kov put his head under the ropes to keep Ward from hitting him again.Comment

what other conclusion is there to arrive at ?
that fight was far too close to classify as a robbery, so the observers who made that call do not seem to understand the official criteria for robbery
a robbery is a decision that nobody who has a good understanding of the game could agree with..... but plenty of fighters/trainers have said that Ward won that fight
it was a close debatable decisionComment

Ward alternatives his persona between wholesome Christian family Guy and passive aggressive, arrogant prick. A good formula for ammassing 12 fans in the bay area.T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas - Newly crowned WBO, IBF, WBA light heavyweight champion Andre Ward (31-0, 15KOs) does not believe Sergey Kovalev (30-1, 26KOs) was the biggest challenge of his career after going twelve rounds with the feared puncher.

Ward would gain much more respect if he handled this controversial decision with a little more class. Ward and Virgil instead are pissing a lot of people off.
If Ward came out and acknowledged the fight was close. ..and just left it like that ..that would be better. He could give credit to Kovalev's knockdown..and highlighted how he made adjustments and took a good number of rounds after that...cool.
But ..instead we get this.Comment

Ward already did exactly that during the post fight press conference.Ward would gain much more respect if he handled this controversial decision with a little more class. Ward and Virgil instead are pissing a lot of people off.

You know after a while even regular people get feed up with criticism. Ward is a obviously a competitive person so don't expect him to start giving Kov praise any time soon.....
Besides, you act as though the press isn't asking him the same questions repeatedly.....Comment
