I just watched this round again and for me Ward took it with better accuracy and his demeanour was one of a fighter that was in control. Sometimes when a round is close it all comes down to who's showing more confidence in that ring and to me Ward was the boss in there at that time.
Let's talk about Round 10

No, Ward obviously landed the cleaner, harder shots that round. Kov's punches outside of a few jabs were completely ineffective, couldn't cut off the ring while Ward was countering him.Comment

They didn't have power lmao, Kov's arm was fully extended both times, you're ignoring the quality of the shots, Ward landed more. If you think the jabs at :45 are neck snapping like OP did, you're delusional, it's why you thought Kov won, he didn't.Comment

Here's a link to it. Around 57 min is rd 10. Watching it again it is very close. I gave it to lov when I last watched it. It's also the round where lampley says "hard right hand" at the end of the round and the replay shows he completely missed

Yeah, it does. We all have a kinda narrative about how the ebb and flow of the fight is going, who looks most confident, who we believe is on the ascendant etc ... and this (as do all the little stories we tell ourselves to make sense of life) inevitably colours how we perceive events. Problem is how do we know our 'story' is the right one? Some folk saw Ward as being confident and comfortable in the later rounds, others saw him just barely doing enough to hold Kovalev at bay. There ain't one viewpoint that is right or wrong, but it does make sense of the sharply different takes of the same event.I just watched this round again and for me Ward took it with better accuracy and his demeanour was one of a fighter that was in control. Sometimes when a round is close it all comes down to who's showing more confidence in that ring and to me Ward was the boss in there at that time[/B].
My take is that Dre did grow in confidence throughout the fight, but was never really in command, Sergei looked like he never entertained the slightest doubt that he was in control, even though he really couldn't quite exert his will over Ward in the second half of the fight. Maybe he could have used a bit of a rocket up the ass to seal the deal.Comment

It doesn't matter how much power you think it had dummy, that's the point. clean landed punches count. There is no "if" about it.
And if i'm delusional for scoring (a razor close) fight a way you didn't/disagree with then half of the boxing world/public is delusional.

Uhhh it's clean EFFECTIVE punches. It's why if I land 5 pitty pat pinches and someone else lands one clean hard right hand they win the round. Ward landed the majority of the clean and effective punches in the 10th.It doesn't matter how much power you think it had dummy, that's the point. clean landed punches count.
