Ward and Kovalev have never been on PPV so how's it going down? Fights without a megastar don't do mega numbers.

Last night we got two guys who can probably be considered modern greats fight each other. It didn't take five years to make it happen either.

We got something special last night. A high level technical battle between two truly elite level guys, with some fireworks to go with it. The fight was razor close. If you're a Kovalev fan, everyone who watches that fight from now until the end of time is going to recognise that. Kovalev's stock went up last night, not done.

The shit to get mad about is when we get denied these fights. Let's appreciate it a little when we do get them.

I like the idea of a 10-10 round. I think a 9.5 would just add to the problem.

                    It's undoubtedly a problem.

To see a guy rewarded with a gift decision for doing little other than holding, jabbing and going backwards is not a good look.

Kovalev dominated the first 6 rounds (winning 5), knocked Ward down, buzzed him another few times and had the fight taken away from him by 3 American judges who scored it for the ineffective American fighter, on an American network in front of an American crowd.

A draw was the fair result in that fight. 3-2 Thompson but a 10-8 round for Woodley resulting in a draw.
