Yeah, the robbery myth has dispelled ad nauseum so I won't go into that in the headliner, but the responses of the fans are disheartening. What's really sad is that as true boxing fans we all should be able to admit that neither party dominated or did enough to earn a clear decision.
Props to HONEST Americans Dan Rafael and Harold Lederman

Originally posted by Freedom.two of the judges had the first 4 rounds for Kovalev then scored only one more round for Sergey. Absurd to say he only won 1 of last 8 rounds.
I gave Ward round 3 (so after 4 rounds Kovy was up 3-1 w/ a KD). Ward won at least 5 of the last 8 rounds. Meaning, at worst, it was a draw. Obviously if it was a draw the fight would go to Kovy b/c of the KD. I am okay giving Ward the nod in the fight b/c he won the championship rounds. Ward won anywhere from 6-8 of the final 8 rounds and, in most of those rounds, outhustled, outboxed, and outfought the Krusher.
I'm okay with 114-113 for either guy, but the right guy won the fight. Insane how so many people freely say, "Well, Kovalev had a KD in round 2 and then lost like 6 of the last 8 rounds...but he still deserves the win". No. He doesn't.Comment

I remain absolutely floored that people on this forum are so upset by the decision. It was honestly an even fight. Kovy won the first half of the fight and scored a KD, but Ward basically swept the last 6 rounds and had Kovy on ***** street (falling over, holding, clinching, and getting punched consistently by clear shots). Although I guess it shouldn't be surprising since there are still people that post in the Floyd/Manny thread about a "controversial" decision. Talk about a fight nobody gives a **** about?Comment

Russian media said it was a robbery. Grigory Drozd wrote an article about it. Pretty much all East European boxers agree that Sergey was robbed.
Russian boxers will be more reluctant to fight in the USA after this.Comment

just watched Kov-Ward again. Kov wins 1,2, 4,6,10,12 & very possibly 3. absurd that no judges gave him rd. 10. he definitely won at least 6 rds.

Props to people like Dan Rafael, Harold Lederman, Roy Jones, Al Bernstein, Doug Fischer, Steve Kim and all the others who rose above silly nationalism and were honest in scoring the Kovalev-Ward fight objectively.
Boxing needs FAIR commentators, as well as fair referees and judges who are ABOVE being biased in favor of a fighter because he was born in the same country.
The three judges in Kovalev-Ward and Paulie Malignaggi are a disgrace to the sport of boxing with their dishonesty and nationalistic bias.
And the 2 judges who scored Hooker-Perez a win for Hooker and a draw are a disgrace to the sport.Comment
