Incorrect my friend. Ward initiated clinches for his offense, then Kovalev had to engage in the fight for arm control too since the ref wasn't doing anything. Was he just supposed to let Ward pin down his arms and get off shots without defending and trying to hold Ward's arms back? If the ref is going to allow your opponent to cheat, then you have to try to get on the same playing field.
That doesn't mean Kovalev was the one holding though. Ward would duck down, lunge in, wrap Kovalev's waist, then pull Kovalev in, then get off shots, grab Kovalev's arms, push off, get off shots, grab back to keep the range, get off shots, grab back so Kovalev couldn't escape, etc etc.
It was Ward. It's always been Ward. It always will be. How ****ing gullible do people have to be to blame Kovalev for the clinching? Did they not watch this fight, or any prior Kovalev or Ward fight?Comment

Duva's sodium levels are way above those in the Atlantic ocean.
Maybe she missed how much Kovalev held and pushed down on Ward's neck. Byrd even warned him several times.Comment

But but the judges said!
Because the judges said!Comment

Lol, yet it was Kovalev getting Ward in a headlock (UFC move) at almost every clinch in the first 3 or 4 rounds. I was surprised that the ref didn't really warn Kovalev about that. Kov was squeezing that neck, lol.Comment

I am a huge Kov fan as u can see by the picture. This was not a robbery, I thought Kovalev won but cong**** to Ward for coming back from the knockdown and making it a tactical fight. There is a rematch clause in place so we will see who wins the 2nd fight, this maybe a trilogy. Unless Ward doesn't abide the rematch clause which I don't foresee cuz that could mean vacating all the belts, this should be a fun rivalry.Comment
