Ward fans who are kidding themselves that this was even close cannot see the contradiction of their only argument. "There were simply two many close rounds to call it a robbery".

Lets take aside if kovalev was the challenger, he definitely should have got the belts.

Lets take aside he landed the best shots and even out landed via computer box(which should only be used in conjunction with being more effective pucher)

If it was as close as some of you are saying, how did ALL three get 114 113. The probability of that is neigh impossible especially as you claim that there were many close could have gone either way. Sure you would have a wide range of scores if that were to be the case?

    Thoughts?

The decision stinks of cookery, the way all 3 American judges gave 7 rounds to Ward, convenient when calculating the KD too.

out landed on compubox doesn't mean ****. i could land 100 punches in 1 round and nothing in the next 11 yet still have landed more than the opponent. each round is scored individually, from what i saw ward was doing just enough to steal them.

and the whole thing of ''taking the the title from the champ'' is bs, if u win enough rounds u deserve the win.

I scored the fight exactly as this image (or I think I did):

For the record, this was the average of 200 users scoring the fight.

Stop reaching with this decision. I box, and I'm a bigger fan of Kovalev. True that I did bet on Ward, but that's because coming into the fight I expected him to win a close fight by decision. It was a close fight, probably closer than even Thurman-Porter, but it is what it is. This result definitely does warrant a rematch, imo.

It means that other than the 10-8 round, Kovalev only won 4 other rounds

              What an absolute joke

Not gonna lie I will watch the rematch but I'm done with this g@y ass sport, it deserves to die. MMA deserves to confine it to the dustbin of history, I hope it does.

This is fine and dandy. but on a round-by-round basis, Kovalev outlanded Ward in the 10th and 12th rounds. The two rounds that basically decided the fight.

Can you make a case for Ward winning those rounds?

I just don't see how Kovalev only won 5 rounds in total. I knew the rounds were close in the mid-rounds but i just cant believe he only got 5 rounds in total.

If a boxer like Malignaggi, who was at ringside commentating on the fight, have a hard time scoring the fight because of its ugly nature, how can you expect these judges, who never boxed in their lives, to make the right decision? What's mind-boggling is why is it so hard for these clowns to declare at least a draw, no harm done?
