My honest thoughts on the fight as a black American.

I felt like Ward had the more good moments in the second half of the fight but it wasn't a lopsided blowout. Kovalev did some good things in some of those rounds as well and was competitive.


I felt in the first half of the fight that it was close but Kovalev scored a knocked down and did some damage to Ward with some power punches. All in all I feel the fight in its entirety was competitive and even. It was back and forth with each fighter having moments. I gave Kovalev the W because in one of his good moments he got a knocked down and dropped Ward. His 2nd round was the most dominant round of the fight. All the others were pretty competitive and I don't feel like either guy truly beat the other or was clearly the better fighter. But because he was able to score that knockdown and Ward slipped up defensively, I think he should have got the win.

I wouldn't have argued with a draw. But he damn well shouldn't have been deemed the loser of the fight.

The apparent contrast is that Ward is not Pascal or Bhop, and Pascal nor Bhop could do what Ward did. Kovalev was headlocking all night, Ward neutralized his jab! Kova looked slow, confused the seocnd half. It was close, but these judges have seen enough high calibre boxers to know which shots count or how the challenger makes the champion swing and miss the seocnd half and looking tired. Oh yeah, people said they saw flaws in the Chilemba performance.

How many times did Isaac get dropped? Did Ward look anything like Chilemba? Hells no. Kova picked Isaac all night, couldn't do it against Ward. Judges gave the benefit.of the doubt to Ward on the 2nd round mistake given the fact that it was a counterattack. Kova almost always presses forward on offensive knockdowns, not counters.

Ward is a true Champion.

dude I'm the most pro black person there is. #blacklivesmatter #blackpower I'm 100% with all of that. I don't like Kovalev and before the Ward fight I made note how I was not at all impressed by him. I flat out don't like white most people. My dislike for white people isn't because I think I am superior or the black race is superior though, I dislike the majority of white people because they're ****in racist and prove it time and time again. I be damn if I give them the benefit of the doubt with their history of oppression.

With that said, I'm a fair minded and rational individual. I call it how I see it. Most whites would have their opinions and judgments clouded by race. Ex. Think of this, look at all the combat sports and pay attention to the fights. White Americans who are such staunch nationalists routinely root against black American fighters against foreigners. These same individuals then get angry when black Americans don't praise and show respect and deference to nationalistic symbols and songs like the flag or the anthem. They would root for, think, and argue a guy won because they think whites are superior and root for white sports figures and become attached to them because they want their racist beliefs to manifest themselves in reality. But see, I dislike the majority of white people for that very reason. I'm not going to engage in the same behaviors that I loathe most white people for. I root for black fighters and blacks to have success, because the whole world hates us (black people). No matter where you travel you will encounter racism and prejudice. They want to see us down and have tried to hold us back and subjugate us to the lowest ranks of society. They view us as subhuman and animals. I root for black fighters and athletes because I know everything we have to encounter in this society and how many obstacles they put in front of us to prevent our success. I root for black fighters and unfortunately I have to root against white fighters because of these types of white individuals and white fans who use these white fighters as a display of white racial superiority. I don't dislike GGG and I think he's the best pound for pound fighter. I don't dislike Lomachenko and I think he is one the most naturally gifted and skilled fighters that ha ever walked the Earth. I never held Kovalev in that high esteem though, because I objectively don't think he has the talent and ability of guys like Loma and GGG. But I speak out against GGG and I speak out against Loma because of the white media and white fans who promote these guys and laud these guys more than talented and gifted fighters of other races because of their racist ideology and beliefs. I have to oppose GGG and Loma from time to time because of the way the racist and bias white media props them up at the expense of blacks. I don't dislike these guys at all. GGG and Loma came from rough countries and rough neighborhoods. They dealt with struggle and turmoil and overcame. That's what black americans do. As a black American how can I not relate to that or admire that? We go through the same thing. I respect that. I just don't like the biased media and how whites use them as symbols of their supposed racial superiority.




P.S. Andre Ward isn't even black btw. I'm black because I have two black parents. You can't be a black man with a white father, period! I don't ascribe to that one drop rule. I'm not particularly fan for him. I don't cheer for him or against him. I haven't watched many of his previous fights.

SAME... I have black friends, who I rarely reach out to, and they texted me saying it was a robbery and that they apologized. Kovalev dominated, all coWard did was run like a bish.
