Close fight, was a drwa for me there were two rounds that could have gone either way..
So I just expect the rematch.

If Kovalev was the hometown fighter he would have won. This is the unfortunate thing about boxing. The broadcast I saw Malignaggi and Macklin were pro Ward and I assumed I was seeing it wrong, then the play by play guy said everyone else in press row had it for Kovalev. Made more sense to me. To me it looked like Kovalev was the better boxer tonight. Ward only scored on jabs and hools while Kovalev attacked and his usual inside dirty boxing. Kovalev consistently landed while being the aggressor every round.Comment

What a robbery! Kovalov won that fight by at least a 2-3 points. Going to re-watch the fight tomorrow and count punches. Don't think it will change anything but at least I will know who won. The cool thing is I will know if Andrew Ward got his ass kicked or not! LOL
Knew Ward's mugging would play a factor. Didn't expect nut-hugging from the judges to be one of them. This is sad.Comment
