Your absolutely correct !
All depends on how u look at fights.
Do u give more credence to the closer, or the one who starts strong? If u go by formal judges rules, its a draw as I had Ward winning 6-12, but if I give more credence to the closer then Ward definitely wins a close fight
who finishes the strongest, fights used to be 15 roundsComment

I'm not going to call it a robbery but the judges' scorecards are really iffy to me. They saw Kovalev leading by 5 points at the end of 6 and gave Ward every single round after that. So basically at the end of 6 all Kovalev need was one more round to win and they decided not to give him another single round after that.
Sorry, but I didn't see Ward sweeping 7-12. The judges knew who they wanted to win and judged accordingly. Close fight but Kova should have left the ring with his titles.

You could tell it was going to be one of those fights with very divided opinions, when I heard after 5 rounds that Dan Rafael and Lederman had Kovalev sweeping it clean I knew Ward was not winning on their cards. While I thought Ward won I expected him to be far more dominant, he is definitely nowhere near the fighter he was a few years ago at 168.Comment

In all honesty there's no real loser in this fight. Andre showed heart and the ability to adjust in the face of adversity. Where Kovalev showed he's not just a one dimensional face first brawler. Close fights happen in boxing. That's what rematches are for. The fight not only warrants a rematch because of how close the fight was, but also how entertaining it was as well. Heck, we might even be looking at a trilogy.
What in the world??? Someone posting something reasonable in this thread? It's nice to see someone not being completely annoying with the Ward win or having a breakdown like a girl who just got her first period over the Kovalev loss.Comment
