Everyone has the right to voice there opinions including Floyd! What I can't understand is why Floyd has a problem with anyone who has a opinion about him or PBC(Haymon)? That's part of boxing. I don't think Floyd TMT will ever be on the level of a Top Rank, Golden Boy, Matchroom, K-2, etc. I say that only because all of those promoters make it about there fighters. Most of time Floyd is talking about himself, 300 million in one night, on top for 20 years, or putting down other fighters. I never thought Floyd was the face of boxing, He always came across as the face of Floyd! Not many top fighters or prospects are running to TMT. I think everyone knows what Floyd accomplished in boxing, no need to keep reminding people.

I don't think that you need to box to be a good boxing commentator. I do think Jim Lampley is a little biased toward HBO fighters. But all of them are anyway.

I agree with Floyd, I think we should all just not bring him up anymore and just forget he existed. It'll be better for the sport.

P.S Malignaggi is a crap commentator, he mentions obvious sht, and just repeats it through-out the fight, the only one who gives any real depth is Roy Jones, Pacquiao-Marquez IV is a good example, where he is calling the strong fients Pacquiao is throwing and that Marquez should be careful and then boom, Marquez gets KD'd, there's a guy I feel I am being educated by.

That says it all. The Fight Game isn't a show about real boxing opinions and discussion, it's a thinly veiled attempt to promote HBO's fighters while putting down the competition.

Which is a shame. It could have been so much more than that.

Boxing could use an intelligent, entertaining, unbiased "state of the game" tv show. We haven't had that since ESPN Friday Night Fights.

I couldn't disagree more. Paulie is a great commentator who makes insightful observations and tells it like it is.

Even when he went to England to be a guest commentator he was dropping knowledge on the hosts there and calling out the obvious bias.

Lampley isn't the best, but he's adequate for what HBO is after. That's really all that matters in the big picture. Any real boxing fan knows his show is a promo for HBOs fighters.... but it does have some good bits to go along with all that. Roy is the man as far as commentators/teachers go. IMO he's the best thing about HBO boxing. And as for HBO vs Showtime... both have some great fighters, but I'd say HBO edges it out.

Floydie just has this egomaniac mindset and is like Trump... can't deal with any criticism. Good thing he doesn't have the nuke codes like his counterpart. TMT isn't that big of a promo company anyway, nor will it ever be. So they rely on the big mouthed egomaniac for as much free promo as they can get. For as long as they're around, that will never change.
