Why the eff would there be a court case? Cotto didn't help himself in the fight but Marg had the concrete on that night, no doubt about it.
Margarito vs Cotto Plaster myth

you nailed it with to much movement, lack of experiance,he should clinch much more, like somebody said here.I think it was body shots, head shots, and too much movement from Cotto. All 3 things depleted him and in the end he had nothing left.
You might be right that he has better conditioning under Roach, I am not sure I have ever seen a Freddie Roach fighter who wasn't prepared physically, that is probably one of his biggest strengths as a trainer.Comment

There was no ****ing plaster!!!! The lab tests showed only trace elements that would be found in plaster, however also found in regular gauze!! The lab reports were not admitted into the CSAC commission trial b/c the commission didn't want to wait for them.
It was old, mashed up gauze wraps, not plaster.Comment

Their was no plaster. No evidence of anything.
The crack people say were on margarito wraps the night of cotto is a damn thread.
If you say the only reason cotto lost that fight against margarito was cause of some mytical wraps than you clearly do not know boxing, reason cotto lost teh fight was cause beside margarito having his number he fought the completely wrong fight against margarito, you can see in the 2nd fight the adjustment he had made and even than he was sinking fast and got saved by the crooked NY commission.Comment

Boxing rules call for a boxer's hands to be wrapped in front of a member of the team of the guy he will be fighting and a member of the boxing commission. Then the gloves are sealed and marked. If the gloves are later removed then the seal would be broken. Boxers don't get to wrap their hands behind close doors with no witnesses if these rules are followed. It's just about impossible to cheat if these rules are followed. Margarito was caught because these rules were followed before the Mosley fight and Mosley's trainer was there. If these rules were followed then Margarito didn't cheat in any of his fights before Mosley. If these rules weren't followed then he could have cheated in fights before the Mosley fight. There has never been any proof he cheated before the Mosley fight. After he was caught before the Mosley fight he became the most hated fighter in boxing and most fans decided he must has cheated before.Comment

Straight up bulllll****. Plaster or no plaster, Cotto would have got fked up regardless.
Cotto lost because he got fatigued and couldnt take as much as he dished out ..
Margarito's chin, pressure, and better stamina won the fight.

Margarito never did anything illegal.

That's one of the things though, we don't know if those rules were followed or if people were even paying attention before. As stated previously by another poster in this thread, I find it hard to believe he tried to cheat for Mosley when Mosley was seen as over the hill and not for the biggest fight of his career. Stephen Edwards commented in one of his mailbags about this awhile back on how you'd be surprised how little attention the commission pays when guys are getting their hands wrapped and how little the guy working for the commission even knows about how the hands are supposed to be wrapped.Boxing rules call for a boxer's hands to be wrapped in front of a member of the team of the guy he will be fighting and a member of the boxing commission.
