No, you failed to grasp the point entirely. He said that if Golovkin is OK fishing 2 divisions below, he should be OK looking in the other direction as well and doing the same he expected Brook to do. Actually he was more generous, recommending a catch weight to make it easier for Golovkin. He's using Golovkin's own standards to make a point.

I don't personally agree with it all but it doesn't change what he said.

At MW, sure. I think Saunders and Jacobs have avoided it. I wasn't sure about Jacobs but it's hard to say he wants it at this point.

Except they're related in this context. He's not just saying he's bigger or stronger than the average person. He's implying he would beat GGG because he's too big and too strong. I'm asking him to prove it. It's foolish to cry "I don't fight anymore" when you are outright saying you would beat someone if you did fight.

^That has nothing to do with the "you can't have both" statement. The man is retired. He can say whatever he thinks. He doesn't have to back it up because he's not boxing anymore. You guys that think 40 year old men are expected to meet the call of every new fighter don't seem to have a grasp on the fact that boxing is a job for these guys. It's not arm wrestling your uncle to see who the strongest in the family is.

Golovkin ran around for FOUR YEARS saying that he can "beat anyone from 154-168".....

Golovkin then killed 2 HUGE fights over the weight, AND he totally refused to negotiate with lil 153lb Cotto.

A few days back, Dirty Sanchez said that Golovkin can beat Kovalev and Ward.

because, Froch IS proven..... and Golovkin, hasn't done a damn thing..... so yea, considering those 2 points, it seems crazy for you to demand that Froch prove something, as you give Golovkin a free pass

Fight fit versus fight fit, I have no doubt that Froch has the confidence that he'll win the fight (and rightfully so, imo); the issue comes down to, after nearly three years out of the ring, getting the weight off to hit an actual target number.

Froch is 6'1, is long as ****, can take a heck of a shot, and has bombs in his hands in his own right; you add that Golovkin's style isn't anything that Froch has already dealt with, and Froch's only real concern is likely how much of the likely near 200lbs that he's carrying can he work off without affecting his ability to fight.

I am unashamedly a fan of slick, mobile fighters with skill and guile galore. However Carl Froch is right up there with Floyd and Roy in my all time favourites list due to the attributes you just mentioned. The first time I saw him fight was against Ward, and I watched him get totally outclassed. But the confidence he displayed leading up to the fight instantly made me like him. Then I looked up his previous fights, and knew he would be a favourite. How he demolished Kessler, Bute, Groves the second time round... Dude was an absolute tank.

GGG's air of invincibility comes from the fact that he has a granite chin, and God like power, so he's been able to take whatever his mostly underwhelming opposition has been able to throw at him, and wreck them with his ridiculous power.

Put him in the ring with someone like Froch, who can bomb, has a granite chin, and a ridiculously high punch output, and we'll see if GGG's the real thing.

Unfortunately, Froch is nowhere near fight fit.
