Generally, COMBINATIONS of punches are MEMORIZED or SPONTANEOUS?

This is a question that I have always had.

Which boxers have premeditated combinations of punches and which ones have spontaneous ones? (Examples)

    Thanks in advance.

Muscle memory...when under pressure you rip off combos thru pure muscle memory like JMM

Fighters also set up combos when they are the ones doing the attacking like a jab to the body followed up by a right hand and a left hook

like larry said, its muscle memory. Repetition until it becomes second nature when the openings present themselves.

some punches also just naturally follow each other...like a simple 1, 2 combo or a 3, 2 or right uppercut, left hook followed by a cross

I agree mostly, but if you are the one leading the fight you can think and mix it up a bit,if you counter or trade its mostly muscle memory,if you are hurt muscle memory too.

its a lil bit of both, for instance when you on the inside chest to chest and you cant see the chin but you know short uppercut will get it, eventually you dont even think about it no more you just automatically know when you on the inside chest to chest that you can bump and rip the uppercut and it will most likely land, so next time you on the inside you do it automatically. Perfect example will be brandon rios, he dont see half of the shots he lands but he knows their there.

perfect example of thinking the combo off of what you see open in mayweather, he throws what you give him and he has his ways of drawing what he needs out of you to make those combos land.

well of course to come degree, you throw where the openings are(improvise) but if not for the repetition, the shots wont be accurate, or have proper technique or timing

If you are the aggressor, it doesnt necessarily mean your opponent will be a sitting duck just to let you tee off on them....the shots have to be set up, distance and timing...mastery of distance and timing, supercedes punch activity and technique....all it takes is the properly placed shots not winging away

                Yup what Larry said

They probably work on different sets of combinations over and over and OVER some more. And then when they see the perfect window of opportunity during a fight they just let it rip.

To me nothing beats a beautifully executed punch combination. Not even a one punch KO. A perfectly timed and executed combination is some mesmerizing ass ****, bruh.
