Davis' career has been mishandled badly imo. He still hasn't really fought anyone of note and now they are throwing him in with an undefeated world champ. Way too early for Davis, who I think is very talented. Pedraza drowns him in deep waters and wins a comfortable UD. Davis should be fighting guys like Salka, Demond Brock, Haskell Rhodes, Dennis Galarza and Frank De Alba. This is like getting called up from Single A to go play in the big leagues

Edit: And are we even sure he can make weight for this. He hasn't been under 130 since Feb. 2015 and his last fight he weighed over 135

I think this fight would've been better on the Thurman vs Garcia undercard btw, two PR vs AA match ups on the same card makes sense in terms of marketing/promotion.

Tough fight for Davis because Pedraza and has the tools to get the job done. I guess we will really see if Davis is a tank because he is going to have to walk through fire and deliver his big shots.

I think Davis has the right type of offense to get the job done on Pedraza but does he have the defense, toughness and boxing ability to make that offense really work against a quality boxer like Pedraza.

It is a good east coast fight, a Puerto Rican against a guy from Baltimore, Maryland. Makes more sense for New York than the main event really which is not a natural fight for anywhere in the US honestly.

Fair enough, I'm not too good with the US geography, so I'll take your word for it.

This might end up like Furtuna-Douglas from this past weekend. We'll see.

Good fight. This is probably gonna be the too much of a jump in class fight for Tank or the breakout fight for Tank. Say what you will about Floyd, but he puts his guys in deeper water & vs better opposition than any promoter out there.

And sure that can be good for fans & bad for fighters, but ultimately I feel like this should be how boxing should look for any fight on TV. F#ck HBO's non-PPV schedule damn near all year, f#ck Danny vs Vargas & Ortiz vs Malik Scott this weekend.

Honestlly that could've been two cards, but I'm all for it.

Davis and Magdaleno fight absolute nobodies and get to pass up contenders who earned the shot and have been waiting longer. Not right.

Haven't seen Pedraza fight yet. What's his main skillset?
