Comments Thread For: Cotto Puts Pressure on Canelo To Fight, Sets Retirement Deadline

Based on the score cards from the first Cotto fight, the score cards from the Trout fight, Lara fight, and the one card from the Mayweather fight, I don't think Cotto will get a decision against Canelo unless he knocks him down a few times, or knock out. So I would like to see a rematch, but because of the historically bad judging in Canelo fights, I'd rather not. I have been waiting for Cotto vs Bradley for a few years, this is the fight that needs to happen. After Cotto fights Bradley, it will be hard for him to find a big money fight around 147/154 lbs. Big possibility that a Pac rematch will be thrown out there, if Brook and Khan generates big money, it could be Brook. I could also see a catch weight fight against GGG as Cotto's last fight. As you can see Cotto's options all but disappear after Bradley. There are other good names out there, but not many bring the PPV status with them.

I understand Cotto's motivation, he's trying to cash out. Canelo's on the other hand is just more of the same, fighting another undersized opponent. PPV does worse than the first fight IMHO.

That is not a good rematch. Cotto didn't totally embarrass himself but he was smaller, slower, and less powerful than Canelo in the first fight. He stayed busy and kept a respectable work-rate, I definitely gave him some rounds. But he had to work 3x harder than Canelo to be in the fight. All that's changed is Cotto's even older now, and Canelo is probably even a bit better.
It's a money grab, I thought their fight was about the same as Mayweather vs. Pacquiao as far as how competitive it was. That is to say- not very competitive... but there is a legion of fans for Cotto who might say otherwise. Cotto didn't show that he could beat Canelo IMO.
In a time loop Cotto beats Canelo 1 out of every 10 times.

Miguel Toto merely hopped around the ring pitty patting in an attempt to seem busy and was made to almost regurgitate his intestines in the 12th. Then like the fa**ot ass pink wearing entitled sore losing princess he is- he ran to his dressing room and refused to be a professional and give an interview/post fight presser.
At this point, f**k him. He's done nothing since. The only reason he hasn't fought is because he hasn't been able to find a fighter in his weight class that he's confident he can beat. I mean, he called Rios for a fight for f**ks sake. Foh. He needs to just focus on those malnourished full-body waxed fighters he promotes. Everything about those events scream struggle.Last edited by Agent Mulder; 11-15-2016, 08:33 AM.
