When Stevenson signed with Showtime there was a clause in his contract to fight on any network if his promoter lost the purse bid. That's why Michel wasn't worried when the WBC ordered the purse bid. Stevenson had all his ducks in a row.
there should literally be a movie about this dude

Stevenson, Garcia & Canelo are kinda the triple crown of dip****s who don't wanna fight elite level cats up to their own skill level these days. Stevenson gots a good mandatory coming up I believe, Garcia gots Thurman in March & supposedly Canelo vs GGG is a mere 10 months away under Oscar's blueprint (yet GGG supposedly turned down a huge pile of money or just didn't return the call to fight Canelo sooner so idk why Oscar would be confident of September '17) so this might all change soon, but I'll change my opinion when they start fighting real mfers not when they got real mfers on their schedule.
Stevenson won't fight Kovalev unless it's screened on Showtime, and Kovalev has an exclusivity deal with HBO. I've given up hope of seeing that match. Superduck clearly doesn't want it, or any other real challenge.

He obviously has a better chance of beating Kovalev for the simple reason that Kovalev is so aggresive, but it is still easy work imo. So yes Stevenson possibly being the biggest puncher south of heavyweight, he can put either to sleep, but that is a slim chance.
