What about Wilder fulfilling his mandatory? Povetkin and Stiverne are fighting mid December for the number 1 mandatory position so there's more than enough time to make a fight with the winner.

This is like deju vu all over again. Deontay Wilder just keeps on fighting optional defenses.

He's coming off a severe injury. This isn't a bad fight considering the circumstances. Should he win, then the Povetkin/Stiverne mando absolutely should happen next.

It will. Povetkin generally takes 6 months between fights and Stiverne has fought once since losing the belt. The fight with the winner of that fight will no doubt be in June/July..

Kassi was giving this guy fits, Wilder absolutely destroys him. Besides it'd just give Wilder another reason to take another six months off and take another soft defence on his return citing hand injuries again.

Povetkin is gonna be 40 by the time they fight so if it happens at all it will be some inconsequential ordeal. Over the sanctioning body falsely identifying a legal drug test result as illegal and sending everyone home, then backpeddling.

Lame. Boxing always ends up like this. Disorganized backroom politics stall everything until nobody cares about a fight anymore.

                  UFC! UFC!

Fury was flagged for a recreational drug in a prefight test and he accepted that result, admitted he'd used coke, and relinquished his world titles without any appeal.
Fuff and Hughie Acne both tested positive for Nandrolone, Fluff used ******* because he needed an excuse to avoid being sued for breach of contract by Klitschko for failing to honour his contractual obligations, this business is not over yet. They have a tribunal this month which will ultimately be delayed for Fluff because he will be medically excused by some easily swayed medical officer likely one taking bribes from the dishonest gypsies.

Hughie has looked lethargic in his last handful of fights, so I can't see him winning if he still has problems there. But if he's able to get his illness under wraps and get back to what he used to look like, then it's a very interesting fight.

But as of now, Wilder would be my pick.
