Would I have wanted his purse suspended if he threw those two punches with genuine intent in the first round to show us it was actually worth watching and that the fight could in fact be an actual 'fight' no. I never want to see Scott fight again, I hope he is black listed by Hearn because frankly he looked livid, he said 'Scott talked his way into this fight and failed to deliver his promise' or something to that effect. Hearn looked like a dejected man and the sort who had lost a lot of face, he basically accepted responsibility for Scott and was apologetic to the fans in attendance and viewers who tuned in expecting a great fight.

Malik Scott just went in there to survive, he hardly even bothered to throw any punches.
I won't hold Ortiz responsible for that crapfest. Other than to suggest that he needs to work on cutting off the ring better.

The guy landed an average of 7 punches a round, two of note over 36 minutes and I believe it took him three rounds to throw a solitary punch.

Scott came to be payed, and looked genuinely concerned when the referee didn't count him out in 14 seconds and dragged him to his feet. These boxers of this era are pathetic by comparison to yesteryear.

PPV fights are the biggest con, I felt the Brook/Ingle conspired stoppage against GGG was a fix, ie appear to be competitive but capitulate before taking any real damage, as to have a fruitful career going forward. Ingle looked enraged with the referee for allowing that fight to go an extra thirty seconds longer than he wanted or Brook needed, it just felt suspect to me and it wouldn't surprise me if Brook hadn't an actual fractured orbital bone. I don't really believe a great deal of these so called injuries, taking Haye and Fury in training for instance, the Fury depression I completely refuse to believe I believe that's all to do with avoiding being sued by Klitschko for breach of contract.

He did Hearn a favour, who paid him well, in return, Brook, in a sense paid back Hearn for losing money on previous Brook fights, and there was no fallout from the stoppage because that fight only happened because GGG's would be rivals are disgraceful basically and Brook was two weight classes out of his class. Brook never had a major day and would have fought Kovalev for £3 million. Which is strangely an attitude not shared by a lot of fighters which is odd as it's sort of the point - take the biggest purse available. The problem was it shouldn't have reached a point were it was available to Brook.Last edited by Sparked_26; 11-13-2016, 10:20 AM.

If the same thing happened against Spence Kell would be expected by every fan in the arena to go out on his shield even with the injury otherwise he would get accused of swallowing it. Which I guess is unfair. I played a lot of football growing up and was subbed off for injuries that are basically nothing in boxing though. Like a perforated ear drum - it was painful as hell and pissing blood and whatever other fluid is in there. Just a mess of streaming pink fluid and my balance was off. I would actually think most fighters have two perforated eardrums. Those things 'go' easily.

GGG is hugely marketable in the UK now and I honestly think yeh could do a DeGale PPV with him, the man to beat GGG is Smith though imo. I'd like to see that down the line but Smith will need building up first and even then I doubt GGG would face him at 168 going by the young Brits size and unquestionable power. Hearn has his next PPV star in the making right there and could capitalise on the GGG victory over Brook should that fight ever materialise.
I don't dislike Brook, I just wasn't sold by his exploits at 147 and don't think he would have beat Spence before GGG tag dolled him, that beating he sustained if he did genuinely suffer the supposed injury he will never be the same going forward.
