I wouldn't expect many to agree with me but it isn't entirely not plausible is it ?

GGG is hugely marketable in the UK now and I honestly think yeh could do a DeGale PPV with him, the man to beat GGG is Smith though imo. I'd like to see that down the line but Smith will need building up first and even then I doubt GGG would face him at 168 going by the young Brits size and unquestionable power. Hearn has his next PPV star in the making right there and could capitalise on the GGG victory over Brook should that fight ever materialise.

I don't dislike Brook, I just wasn't sold by his exploits at 147 and don't think he would have beat Spence before GGG tag dolled him, that beating he sustained if he did genuinely suffer the supposed injury he will never be the same going forward.

I think the injury was real as Kell was tabbing it away at it as soon as the injury was sustained. But it is plausible that an agreement was in place to stop him getting a real shoeing from GGG.

With Smith I want to be excited about him but really it is probably just the level he is fighting at but I am most impressed by his size. That is freakishly massive super middle, the guy would even be a pretty huge light heavyweight. God knows what he's made of?

Great effort by Scott. Looks like he tried to take Ortiz into deep waters. Luis proved he can swim pretty well. Love to see fighters have different challenges. Great win for Ortiz.

I think it was against the North African/Frenchman he stopped in two I was completely sold by, only he's had poor performances since admittingly one i did not see, his second to last fight I think. I watched highlights of the Nemesapati fight and I think I saw highlights of Reynoso too can't recall if I saw either in full the highlights and skipping over I think was because of the calibre of opponent I wasn't concerned with missing those fights. He did however drop those guys multiple times and he will been working on different aspects those rounds he banked won't have harmed his progression.

What do you think of Smith, his future prospects and chances versus DeGale or Jack ?

Scott is a joke, I hope he doesnt get another fight. He took a dive for his friend Wilder and then doesn't even attempt to win against Ortiz. Do boxing a favor and retire, you will not be missed.

Hearn has no intention of genuinely making ortiz a success, all hes doing is plumping up for his cash cow joshua to beat when the time is right. Its a disaster for him if ortiz sparks joshua out.

I really don't know because there is a great chance that DeGale and Jack would hit Smith clean and hard with a big shot/shots because they are both seasoned world level fighters. I suspect he would do pretty well against DeGale because of James's inexplicable tendency to put himself on the ropes. I think if DeGale can't shake that habit against Jack then Jack could win their fight clearly. Jack would probably know too much for Smith if I was forced to bet on it. I also think Groves would be very dangerous at this stage too because I would bank on him to find Smith with a right hand too.

It worries me that since the Fielding and Mohammedi fights Smith has been managed to sit on his ranking - it sort of indicates a lack of confidence for me. It really doesn't seem necessary that Smith should have to jump up through the levels on fight night when he gets in there with Jack or DeGale. Surely fighters like J'Leon Love, Periban, Medina represent an obvious middle ground there. Would those fighters really request huge money to gatecrash the world title picture? Hearn has the budget and the dates. I dunno, bit odd. That said reminds me a bit of how Brook was managed under Warren. The unspoken truth there was actually Frank didn't rate him that highly and wasn't willing to put himself out of pocket. I bet he regrets that now.

For me it would be a normal progression of a young heavyweight. Better Ortiz than say a David Price. Losing to Price would be more of an issue IMO.
