Being a little kid, playing Tyson's punchout, having been so happy getting up to "Iron" Mike, thinking I have a shot, then him landing one punch on me and going down
Eubank did carry boxing for a while, and wasnt just an original but an originator. Quite simply,if it wasnt for Eubank boxing would not be anything like it is today.
Thrilla In Manila. I was in elem school in Manila, classes were stopped, we went to the library to watch it on TV. It was mid morning there, primetime in the US.
The earliest fight I REMEMBER was the Mancini-Kim tragedy. I know I watched a few fights before that with my pops (SRL more than likely) but from the Mancini fight on I realized how serious this sport was. Wasnt like watching the Yanks play (even tho that sometimes seems like life and death); this was something where the drama was real and there was a chance that a person could actually die before your eyes competing in a sport that you like. Anyway, my mom was watching that fight with us too and any chance I had in participating in the sport went out the window that night.

Yeah, good call!I loved that game when I was a kid.
I remember hearing some wierd noises coming from my parents bedroom during the mid afternoon when I was very young....
I opened my parents door and there was my dad pounding my mother doggystyle in front of the TV...boxing was on.
I asked my dad who was fighting and he said Greg Haugen and Viny Panzienza...he told me too go downstairs and he would be there in a minute so we could watch the rest fo the fight.
My dads the ****in best!
that is probably the best earliest boxing memories response yet...your Dad is my hero! LOL
Mine has to be when I was about 11 years old come 9 odd years ago of Chris Eubank with his dramatic entrances to the boxing ring with Tina Turner riddems pumping in the background. WWE wrestlers would of been proud of his entrance. Even though the man was a complete bellend he was a great showman and a great boxer.
Probably Ali Frazier 3 I think it was 1971 I was 6 and my dad and I watched it on Wide World of Sports...I remember watching alot of Olympics in 72 and 76 respectively and remember watching Hearns Hagler /Hagler Leonard/Hearns Leonard/Duran Leonard/Duran Hearns. All that was some awesome fights...I watched "No Mas" live..... I remember seeing Ali lose to Spinks...I remember crying....I rmember crying like the first time I saw Brian's Song...any old timers out there remember that movie...I was like 5,6,7,8ish....
