I do not think the split will be a problem. I don't think either Brook or Hearn are ready to settle for a Spence fight tho..they will milk as much time as possible to try to make either a Khan fight or a Pacquiao fight.

That's what I'm wondering. I keep bringing up the fact that every time they talk about this fight they bring up the purse split for no reason at all. You'd think the challenger would be the one talking money but he's not saying anything about the money.Comment

75/25 is fine for Spence he isn't an established guy. That is when the purse bid split is perfectly acceptable. I am also sure 25% of the bid will be more than Spence has ever got.
They will go to purse bid though because the fight will be worth a lot more than whatever the bid is, so controlling the fight free and clear is a boon for Brook and Hearn.
Plus if Spence is going to accept 25% of this smaller figure why bother negotiating?Comment

Damn looking for the purse bid off gate? They don't want that fight. Its cool. I hope Spence takes it because he leaves every other fighter with no excuse not to get in with him. But it doesn't sound like Brooks back until at least the summer so Spence should be either looking for the winner of Thurman/Garcia or fighting some high level stay busies like Khan until then.Comment

Well casuals is where the money is at, doesn't change the fact that it was a fight he was never going to win and essentially he only took it because of the money.
I think Brook should still get some credit for taking the fight but it was a win win situation for him. And just because he took that fight doesn't mean he can't be accused of avoiding anyone. I don't think he's avoiding Spence but this fight is not a win win situation.... he has a lot to lose in the Spence fight.Comment

Seems fair.
A lot at stake for both guys so could be a great fight.
I think Spence is the type of guy who can raise his level for the big occasion.Comment

When Pedraza vs Stephen Smith went to purse bid, Hearn made a side deal with Smith. That way Pedraza had to settle with 75% of a low bid and Smith made off with paycheck that cut Pedraza out of his 75%. Spence should do the same thing.Comment

mentioning it ad nauseum before the negotiation hardly instill's one with confidence
that is exactly what Team Golovkin did to JacobsComment
