I don't see any active boxer right now that can beat Andre Ward on the inside.

Mind-blowing that Jackson has been openly talking about their game plans for months. That might not matter with some opponents but he's fighting the most cerebral fighter in the game. No matter how strong Kovalev is, they can't expect to just force their will on a guy who makes a career of baffling fighters.

yes they can, thats how you tackle a slick you hit them hard and you hit them often. you get right up close to them and turn it into a dogfight. you pay them no respect. all you 'pugilists' and know it alls were saying it was crude when people said against mayweather you just have to get right up in his face. lo and behold, a fighter shows him no respect and throws a volume of shots (maidana) and it ended up being his toughest fight in many years. or you can do the canelo/pacquiao approach and pay the guy so much respect and throw single shots and get outboxed for 12 rounds

to me the tactics sound spot on. why **** about for the first few rounds and throw them away cause your 'feeling out' ward. get in there from the first bell and make it a ****ing nightmare for ward, set the pace high, **** him to the body, get him out of his comfort zone. dont ****ing try and outbox a boxer, i see this **** time and time again and im always shaking my head. Had it in quigg v frampton, if he started pressing like he did in the last half of the fight he would have won the fight but he pissed about and threw away the first 6 rounds.

Mayweather was 37 and if you've watched Kovalev you will observe that he can not throw 800 punches over 12 rounds. Maidana landed something like 200 out of 800.

Kovalev will gas out long before the championship rounds if that's his strategy. His stamina is not good enough to employ a volume punching strategy. His team is smart enough not to do that because if he doesn't get Ward out of there within 5 rounds he will have thrown the fight away. Whatever they are planning to do they must be able to do for 12 rounds.

I hope Ward does not run around hugging and dancing but if he does all Kov has to do is stand in the middle of the ring and not chase him....even if Kov stands there for 3,4,5 or 6 seconds the people will see that it is Ward that doesn't want to engage and In the words of Mr Briggs "Lets Go Champ"......How bout them Cowboys!!!!!
