    Is Yuriorkis Gamboa dumb?

So the guy goes from 50cents bankrupt promotional company to another obscure promotional company with questionable financial backing in BB Promotions... who are based outta Spain (cause Spain is the hotbed for boxing amirite) and hasnt had a fight in 11 months, does the guy purposely just like shooting himself in the foot or is he mentally damaged? I dont understand why so many fighters insist on signing with these promoters with questionable financial backing, are they just hipsters or am i missing something??

Same kind of goes for Roc Nation Sports and Banner Promotions, while they have financial backing both seems to be terrible @ getting their fighters the fights that they need/want

Like Rigondeaux for example, has been in talks with his mandatory Moises Flores for months now, no fight on the horizon...

Same goes for Demetrius Andrade, so he just got out of his contract with Banner... and what does he do next?? he fking resigns with them?? wtf is that ****, do they purposely waste their careers so they can retire undefeated and say "well nobody wanted to face me"

And neither Banner or Roc Nation has the finances to win any purse bid, they get outbid every damn time...

Ward, Andrade and Rigondeaux were all free agents earlier this year/last why do they insist in signing with these ****ty promoters instead of just signing with Haymon, Top Rank or Golden Boy?

Now granted Ward did get the Kovalev fight, but if Kovalev wouldnt have went out of his way to make the fight then Ward probably wouldve been ignored @ LHW

I think calling Gamboa dumb is probably an insult to dumb people.

Being a Gamboa fan has been difficult over the last few years. Bad decisions on promoters, trainers, weight class and just about everything else.

It's even worse. The start of all his brainless crap began when he had a major promoter in Top Rank and he backed out of a signed and planned fight with the unbeaten Brandon Rios at which the Top Rank fallout put him on the shelf for a long time, rightfully so after burning everyone around him who made that fight. On a good day, he has an IQ slightly above a dead Frog.

Ward is listed as one of the highest paid fighters this year so I would exclude him from the list but, generally speaking, I think people fail to realize that we're talking about people that are not likely to be "smart". They're athletes that are not required to attend school like most ball gamers are. Athletes who get hit in the head for a living, from a young age. They rely on their teams to make the right choices for them and are very susceptible to poor management. I feel bad for Gamboa, Rigo, and others whose great talents are wasted through poor business choices.
