I'm actually quite high on AJ - for his potential.

My beef is with the claims that he's the man right now. He simply isn't - he's fought nobody, and red flags have appeared already.

Parker isn't the man right now either - but he's a step ahead in his development.

I do enjoy winding the homers up though - nothing quite as sweet as getting a reaction out of those Poms.

All I've seen from you regarding AJ is insults. You sound bitter.

No one is claiming he's the number 1 right now. Just that he looks like the guy who's going to be on top in the future.

Apart from Takam, Joshua's opponents piss all over Parker's. There is no debate to be had in that department.
And even then Takam gets overrated like crazy.

What red flags? I have no idea what you're talking about.

If you think that Parker is a step ahead in his development, You're crazy. You're taking this Takam fight way too far. Takam hasn't done anything in his career to get the credit he gets from some of you. Who has he beaten?

Instead of trying to get a rise from some of us poms, just post honestly. That way you don't come off looking bitter.

I take it this guy is pretty sour about being dumped by Parker if he had still been Parker's manager he would be singing a different tune.

You just sound like a pathetic aj casual fanboy.

im a 'pom' and im also a boxing fan. I can clearly see who is the stiff flat footed hype job and who is the more proven younger prospect who has a better resume.

lmao you actually think beating some failed nfl fatties who are not even C level fighters means he has had better development?

          answer this:

Has AJ beaten anyone who doesn't have ****?

Yeah, i'm a casual. I've just been watching for over 25 years, that's all. Sigh.

Whyte and Martin didn't have ****. Breazeale did though. But I do find it funny you're going off on one about Joshua and fighting fat fighters in a thread about Parker/Ruiz. You know Ruiz, the fattest pro boxer ever? Hahahaha

You may now get back to making a fool of yourself.

He has a point. Titles don't mean so much any more, and this title is pulled right out of the trash. It's a tosser, a misplaced trinket and this fight is more eliminator quality than champion. It's going to be a hard sell no matter and the prospect of this champion defending vs a string of has beens and nobodies while waiting for a unification doesn't excite me.

Have a look through what I've said, and you'll find plenty of critical analysis of AJ.

I can, in no uncertain terms, say AJ is the most physically gifted and projectable body type in HW boxing right now. In fact, if all of the chips falls into place for him - he has a higher ceiling than Parker does.

However I do stand by my comment that Parker's development is a step ahead. What we've seen out of AJ is pretty bollocks thus far - he's literally walked through C-level opponents, and bullied his way through people. He will NOT be able to replicate that against top fighters. He is going to be seriously undercooked when he fights a real fighter.

Red flags? His sluggish footwork. Combining a square base with very little lateral and head movement, he's a stationary target. His chin - and inability to read shots. The world saw him get rocked by Whyte (who is a horrendously slow domestic fighter) - it's a significant worry that he was unable to telegraph a shot from someone with such poor hand speed and movement. His history of walking forwards and through opponents - purely because they are of the level that leaves them unable to deal with that. He has not shown any ability to do otherwise - because he really hasn't had to.

What AJ does have going for him, again, is his incredible physique and the power that comes with it. He got buckled by Whyte but weathered the storm well - he shouldn't have been in that position against a poor fighter, but when he was, he got out of it well. For a big guy, his gas tank looks good too - again, never been challenged, but didn't fade like guys his size normally would.

I agree that Takam is overrated - but even an overrated Takam is more than AJ has fought. Heck, has AJ fought anyone comparative to even Dimitrenko? it's a joke to say "Joshua's opponents piss all over Parker's". They really don't - no unbias person could claim they do.

None of what I've said is new.

If you think that AJ's feet are sluggish, then that's you. I don't see that at all. He's not a mover, but then again, how many fighters his size do.

Also fighters that tall doing usually have head movement, they control distance instead. Which AJ does very well. Only small heavy's use head movement because their size and height forces them to.

The shot against Whyte was him being pig-headed and walking straight in without his hands up. He learnt from that in his very next fight by applying defence and picking his shots more. You could also see his control of distance was much improved. So he learns from his mistakes.

If you think AJ works as though he just walks through people without setting shots up, distance control and timing, then we're definitely watching two different fighters here.

And the Dimitrenko comment? STOP. SMOKING. CRACK. Wyhte, Breazeale and Martin are like ATG's compared to that glass jawed quitter.
