Comments Thread For: Kovalev-Ward approach prompts big spike on enthusiasm meter

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - The countdown is on. In fact, as of this morning we're at T-minus 11 days. That's 11 days until a fight light heavyweight monster Sergey Kovalev against former super middleweight king Andre Ward that's got me as excited as any I can remember in many, many years...

I live in L.A and have seen nary a billboard or have heard anything about this fight. The promotion for this is awful. Of course all the degenerates that post here and check boxing websites daily care, but no one else does. The fact that the one of the most intriguing fights in the last 5 years will get MAYBE 250,000 ppv buys bums me out. But that being said, ward by tough close decision.

You know Ward is loving being part of something big time. Nice of Krusher to give Ward a shot to be known outside of Oracle Arena's free ticket recipients. This is the most attention Ward has gotten since he used GGG's name then ducked a fight with him.

If the promotion was down to me, I would've guaranteed at least 3 million ppv sales. Even tennis fans should be talking about Kovalev vs Ward because this shti is East vs West; a real life Drago vs Creed clash(well, almost).

I haven't heard or seen anything about this fight outside of boxing forums. This fight may top whatever atrocious numbers Crawford/Postol got earlier in the year, but either way it's still going to take a major loss.

They've dropped the ball promoting this.

I can't wait to see this fight. This and Loma vs. Walters are both in the top 5 match ups of this year.

                  I'm taking Ward by decision.

I haven't heard or seen much but I haven't really been looking to this point. Did watch the HBO promos yesterday which I enjoyed and got me more pumped
