I congratulate Manny Pacquiao on his victory last night. He fought as well as can be expected for a boxer approaching 38 years old.

However at the same time, he should avoid most of the current young welterweight titleholders out there who likes to come forward, slug and has punching power because he looked like an old fighter tonight.

The only thing he has left is speed because both his power and stamina have betrayed him at this current stage of his career. He is now a gun shy fighter, who avoids exchanges and doesn't like to engage his opponents any longer.

                  I had it 9-3 Pacquaio.

Pacquaio is just a shell of his former self, his killer instinct has completely gone and he barely even throws combos any more. Pacquaio not throwing combos, imagine that.

He has the skill and talent to still beat most of the fighters out there but he needs to hang them up in all honesty.
Yupp, pretty much sums it up. I had it 8-4 for Pac. I do think Jesse prepared pretty well for the fight. He gave a good account of himself, but I honestly believe the blood from his cut sapped the confidence out of him. He was doing pretty well and gaining confidence and comfort up until that point. Soon as he started bleeding you could almost immediately see his heart diminish. Nothing to hang his head about though, and I liked his humility post fight.

Pacquaio needs to retire, he's aged drastically since his last fight. Maybe it's his senator duties idk..but his movement and reflexes are slow. I'd hate to see one of the young bucks really hurt him, and I think it is real possibility at this point. His performance tonight was supposed to ignite interest in the Mayweather rematch, I think it failed to do that miserably.

Age catches us with us all though, and Pacquiao does look a different fighter these days.

I thought the 118-109 cards were about right. The 114-113 was a shocker.
For me age already caught up with him when he did the Bradley 1 fight, when his aggressiveness was gone and no more 100 punches per round, the great Manny has been gone a long time,he's still better then some prime fighters right now though with is impressive but he is so far from his electrifyng best

... by corroborating with the Compubox numbers for the second half of the fight (i.e. Pac outlanded Vargas 98-54 over last 6 rounds), one may understand why Moretti scored it almost a draw...
