The fight or more specifically, Pacquiao's reaction to loss hurt his legacy. The only people who buy the excuse are his rabid fans.

Casuals have moved on. Those involved in the sport and those who consistently follow were disappointed in Pacquiao's inability to accept loss graciously.

In and out of the ring, his good natured image has been tainted.

As for the performance. Mayweather did what people expected him to, shut Pacquiao down. People with n understanding of the sport can understand the skill required.
