It is an interesting question. I suppose I take issue when I see people on this site calling fighters cowards while sitting safely behind a keyboard. Also, there are "cherry picking" situations that occur all the time so I suppose the "school yard" bully theory could be applicable in this case. It's just tough for me to call anyone a coward who both punches and gets punched for a living. There is also all of the training, sparring and sacrifice that come with being a pro fighter, so that is also something to think about.

Some boxers are more courageous than others but no man who makes a living fighting should be called a coward in my opinion. Even the least courageous boxer has way above average courage.

Nobody who doesn't box should ever call a fighter a coward.Bottom line is it's a job, with a short window to earn enough money to live the rest of your life on.You have to maximize your earning potential because none of the fans are going to feed your kids. These guys can die in there at any moment,a guy who came to my club died after sparring. You have to willingly climb in a ring running the risk of a blood clot on your brain. You risk humiliation in front of everyone who knows you.Too many internet warriors on here.
