Like someone else said, unless his output increases also, he's in trouble. Gennady is a work house in there, and it's going to take a lot to slow him down. And something I think people are over looking, I don't see Canelo being able to tie GGG up. If Gennady doesn't want his opponent to tie him up, it's very hard. Once he puts his head under your chin and rips his arms out of your clinch, he's not easy to hold. There's just not enough from Canelo that will make me see him beat Golovkin. Don't even get me started on the jab.
True. The subtleties that make Golovkin so great are often overlooked. He knows how to neutralize an opponents attempt to tie him up and is unrelenting. His conditioning is superior so you're not going to wear him down. Canelo has the skill and power to make it competitive but unless he catches Golovkin cold no way he's breaking him down. On the other hand we're not sure if Canelo can handle the kind of pressure and power GGG brings to the table. These unknowns are what makes the prospect of this fight so intriguing.

Because that's the story that HBO has been consistently pushing

Golovkin is this wrecking machine (who fights at financial rates that HBO can largely work with), Alvarez is less than courageous (in choosing to not take fights on HBO's time), and Golovkin needs to finally pick off a serious scalp if he's ever going to deliver any return for HBO on PPV.

Canelo has been fighting smaller guys his entire career. I don't think his power will transfer that well to 160-168, I think this fight is amazing while it lasts, GGG able to take Canelos best shots but wins a TKO.

A better question might be--What makes you think Canelo could ever beat GGG????

After watching what GGG did to LEmeuix I just don't see Canelo being able to control GGG..

Considering Canelo has never fought at 160, I'de favor Lemuiex to win that fight.....How is that hard for you to understand? Canelo is not a 160 pound fighter lol

Definitely a closer fight than most seem to think it'll be. I'm rooting for the fight to happen for history's sake & for GGG to get his opportunity, but I'm picking Canelo to win.

It is a 50-50 fight but Canelo looks p*ssy cuz he's fronting on the fight. Lowball offer, saying GGG has beaten anyone all the while fighting a guy who's done even less than GGG.
