a lost to vargas will not hurt his legacy neither does a win will do anything for it. his legacy is set. but a lost to vargas will just put a dent on it because like you said vargas is a cherry pick fight. and if vargas wins this will lead to bigger future pay day for him. so again how is this a lose lose for vargas???

Floyd trying to stay relevant using mannys name during fight week smh
Ill say this if vargas wins he gets full credit and his win is greater than floyds, because he fought a healed healthy pacquiao with no injury. Floyd couldnt even impress against a injured pacman who came off a vicious ko, smh

"Vargas is a good dude, he's a broadcaster too. He's sometimes works for HBO and he's a real, genuine good dude. We had a fighter recently in the fighter meetings who said that he used to have nothing and how Jessie Vargas used to give him shoes, and the fighter's wife was there and started to cry because of how good of a dude Jessie Vargas is."
"He's a good, solid fighter. He’s not bad, and he's not a big puncher, and he's the kind of guy where if he beats Pacquiao, that means Pacquiao is washed as a top level fighter. So the fact that Pacquiao chooses to fight Vargas instead of Crawford, it can only say one thing at this point - which is he’s just fighting for the money. He’s fighting for kind of a money grab while avoiding the bigger money against the more dangerous opponent. It doesn’t say good things about where he is at the moment."

Notice how Kellerman says "if he beats Pacquiao, that means Pacquiao is washed up as a top level fighter." Does he say "if he wins that means Vargas is a top level fighter?" NO! I'm just telling you how this plays out! Don't hate 'da playa' hate the game!

That's a classic "lose-lose" situation. Just read the words of Max Kellerman:

Of course there would be some who would pretend age doesn't matter, but the vastly overwhelming majority of boxing fans know Mayweather in his mid to late 30s was not the same guy, and age would play a factor in any potential loss.
Same deal with Pac now, the double standard would only come from the obsessive haters. There aren't enough of them to bother paying attention to. Pac from even 2 years ago would stop Jesse Vargas. If he doesn't now, it's because of age.
