You have to take that up with Eddie Hearn, Golovkin was under contract with Hearn. If Hearn wanted him to fight anyone he would've contractually been obligated to do so. Eddie himself has said as much, I was very critical of that matchup and still am but I put the blame of that on both Hearn and Brook. Hearn for guaranteeing money he would have to pay even if no event happened and Brook for letting Eddie fill his head with ideas of glory that nearly cost him an eye.

I mean how in the hell would he be under contract with Hearn?? Eubanks did not sign and GGG could have just moved on and fought anyone else....why even post some nonsense like that? If anything Hearn was the one who could not deliver Eubanks

He's never seen a boxing contract so he just says what he thinks. He thinks a fight contract is a promotional contract. He started watching boxing like 3 years ago but he'll talk smart to life long fans.

At the end of the day it has to be a fair fight - every catch-weight negotiation is different and it will never be that simple to say there is inconsistency as they are all different situations.

I don't see GGG looking to gain advantage in any of the weight-gain situations, simply looking for a fair fight, eg

v Ward. Ward was naturally big at 168 at the time, and leaning towards being bigger than 168 (so now he's at 195). 160 is big for GGG, so to go up and take on the best-in-class at 165+ would have been a bad move.

v Canelo. Canelo is naturally 215+ anyway but uses his age to be able to fight at lower weights. Fair fight with GGG would be 160...nothing less.

v Mayweather. 154 is a big weight for Mayweather and he doesn't hit hard, a weakened Golovkin could potentially walk through anything Mayweather threw and just a question of whether he could get past the defence over the 12. Financially it made sense, and once again, a fair fight would be at 160

I see all the negotiations so far as making perfect sense - no inconsistencies at all. If anything GGG has to make all the sacrifices and should get at least a 60/40 split. I think these are PERFECTLY makeable fights considering GGG is the A-Side Just like the size and shape of this PERFECT A-Size Weiner of GGG's I'm about to put in my mouth...Now GGGet in my MOUTH
